Author(s):Lumina Foundation
Date:2014
Organization(s): Lumina Foundation
Description:This annual report from the Lumina Foundation shows the nation's progress toward achieving Goal 2025, which states that by the year 2025 60 percent of Americans will hold a college degree, certificate, or other postsecondary credential. It was found that 39.4 percent of working-age Americans holds a two- or four-year college degree, an increase of 0.7 percent from 2011. For young adults, ages 25 to 34, these percentages increase as 40.9 percent hold a two- or four-year degree, an increase of 0.8 percent from 2011. While these statistics seem promising, changes in higher education are necessary particularly to support underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. Policy briefs of each state are included.
