5 The toolbox revisited: Paths to degree completion from high school through college

The Toolbox Revisited is a data essay that follows a nationally representative cohort of students from high school into postsecondary education, and asks what aspects of their formal schooling contribute to completion of a bachelor’s degree by their mid-20s. The most recently completed of the national grade-cohort longitudinal studies conducted by NCES, known as the NELS:88/2000, is used to address the central question of what leads to the completion of academic credentials.
